Permaul lone Guyanese in CWI President’s XI squad

After making the Test squad to tour Bangladesh and did not feature in any of the two Test matches, Guyana’s Veerasammy Permaul was left out of the squad for the first Test against Sri Lanka starting from March 21. Permaul, however, has been included in the Cricket West Indies (CWI) President’s XI squad that will play the Sri Lankans in a 2-Day match from March 17 at the Coolidge Cricket Ground.

After Jomel Warrican’s good showing in the Bangladesh series, his fellow left-arm spinner, Permaul was not considered for selection. Permaul claimed four wickets in the second innings of the Best v Best match but that was insufficient for him to get selected for the first Test against Sri Lanka.
