Cricket at Tucber Park suspended indefinitely

In face of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Tucber Park Cricket Club has, with immediate effect, suspended all club practice sessions for the foreseeable future.

Recognising the gravity of the situation and the paramountcy of the safety and general wellbeing of its members and supporters, this New Amsterdam-based cricket club is encouraging everyone to take every precaution to protect themselves and families from contracting the deadly coronavirus.

In this regard, the club is suggesting that consuming vitamins and drinking a lot of water are essential. The club is also suggesting that this time of suspended activities presents an opportunity for athletes to engage in strength and conditioning work, and to maintain a regime of cardiovascular exercises.

A statement released by the Tucber Park Cricket Club read as follows:
“To the Public: We, at Tucber Park, would like to urge all to observe the regulations put forward by the relevant authorities, such as social distancing, self-quarantining and basic hygiene, as we all do our part to fight and prevent the spread of this dreaded virus. We salute the healthcare workers, and pray for them during this time, as they are on the frontline. You guys are the real MVPs; God’s richest blessings (be on you), and guidance to us all through this dark phase. Remember: The night is darkest just before dawn. This, too, shall pass. Until then, stay safe.”
