South Africa ‘A’ beat West Indies ‘A’ in second match

Off-spinner Dane Piedt ended the match with 11-103, claiming a first innings five-wicket haul and followed up with a six-wicket haul to help South Africa ‘A’ beat West Indies ‘A’ by 232 runs in the second unofficial Test between at East London, South Africa.

South Africa ‘A’ bowled the West Indies out for 202 to level the keenly contested series 1-1.

West Indies ‘A’ resumed on 134-5 with Guyanese duo Tevin Imlach was on 16 and Kevin Sinclair on 15.

The Caribbean side had required 308 runs for victory, and the tourists’ innings only lasted an additional 18 overs as Imlach was dismissed for 34 and Sinclair 21.

Akeem Jordan fought bravely for 21 and Shamar Joseph was not out on 18 as Piedt continued his outstanding performance with the ball, taking three of the final five wickets to fall to finish with the impressive figures of 6-75 and overall match figures of 11-103.
