Ramson Jr sworn in as RHTY&SC patron

The Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club (RHTYSC), MS yesterday hosted its 31st annual awards at the St Francis Center. This event was held under very strict Covid 19 guidelines and was a success. As part of the historic event, fourteen Guyanese received our highest award- The Dolphin Award of Excellence.

The awardees were Leila Ramson, Culture Youth and Sport Minister Charles Ramson Jnr, Stabroek News Journalist Romario Samaroo, Faizal Jafarally, Navindra Persaud, Ananda E T Dharry, Anasha Dharry, Terry Holder, Sonia Griffith- Ward, Guyana Jaguars Head Coach Esuan Crandon, Guyana Times Sport Journalist Brandon Corlette, Charles Ramson Snr, Dr G Sukdheo and Dr Cecil Beharry. President of the GCB Bissoondyal Singh was out of the country and would receive his award shortly.

Additionally, 24 persons were bestowed with the Zenith award, which is the second highest award the club offers. Those recipients were Lucy Pike, Joyce Roberts, Mavinesh Persaud, Gregory Rambarran, Navin Raghoo, Patrick Lewis, Tyrone Pottaya, Ravindranauth Kissoonlall, Leon Wiggins, Dawn Hicks, Bridgette McDonald, Terry Pike, Erva Giddings, Mark Papannah, Franklyn Ross, Joel Pike, Pamela Brush, Elizabeth Brush, Ashton Hendrax, Errol Hendrax, Keith Hicks, Sohan Harry, Neville Beaton and the hardworking Public Relations Officer (PRO) Simon Naidu, received the club’s worker of the year.

The Promising players’ award went to former Berbice Under-19 spinner Keith Simpson, former youth pacer Sylus Tyndall, national youth players Junior Sinclair and Jonathan Rampersaud, Berbice youth wicket-keeper Chandrapaul Govindan, Jeremy Sandiha, Matthew Pottaya, Christopher Deroop and female player Oma Mattadin. A total of eight promising cricketers received bicycles and eight additional promising cricketers received special prizes.
