Guyana Jaguars are in second position after seven rounds of the Cricket West Indies (CWI) Professional Cricket League (PCL) Regional 4-Day championships. The Jaguars’ next opponent at the National Stadium, the Barbados Pride is at the top of the table with 116 points.

Jaguars next match against the Pride is expected to be the match of the season when the two top teams in the competition lock horns in a day/night affair at Providence. With three rounds remaining, Jaguars will have to play their best cricket and get the right results which may hand them a sixth successive 4-Day title. In this season, Jaguars recorded three wins in seven matches, suffered two defeats and recorded two drawn encounters.

Pride, on the other hand, has five wins and two defeats, their latest came against Trinidad and Tobago Red Force. Jaguars leader, Captain Leon Johnson has 460 runs in the tournament at an average of 41.81. The classy batsman has a high-score of 189 and has also recorded two half-centuries.
His senior partner, Christopher Barnwell has 424 runs with a high score of 107.

Only Barnwell and Johnson were able to break the century barriers after seven rounds. Vishual Singh, who made two scores in the 90s has 378 runs in the six matches he played, Singh has as a supreme average of 42 with three half-centuries.

Chandrapaul Hemraj, who missed the previous round due to an injury is expected to return to the team while some West Indies players who returned from Sri Lanka may be up for selection. Veerasammy Permaul has 49 wickets while Nial Smith has 20 wickets while Raymon Reifer has 13.
