
Cricket Guy Inc. has named a strong Guyana Jaguars team to compete in the 2021 CWI CG Insurance West Indies Super 50. The team will be captained by the experienced Leon Johnson, who will have West Indies’ batsman Shimron Hetymer as his deputy.
The Guyana Jaguars is scheduled to departure Guyana on 30 January 2021 for Antigua, where they will continue to engage in the prescribed COVID 19 safety measures leading into their first match in the same Island which is scheduled for the 8th February 2021.

The team is led by Coach, Esuan Crandon and Manager/Assistant Coach, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, while the Physiotherapist will be Ernesto Campo Gonzalez.
Keemo Paul will sit out of the tournament in order to facilitate adequate recovery from an injury, whereas, Sherfane Rutherford who was considered for selection, has opted to play T/10 and T/20 cricket in Bangladesh and Pakistan, respectively, which collectively coincides with his time demands to play for the Guyana Jaguars during the Regional Super 50.
In keeping with the COVID-19 Protocols, the Guyana Jaguars will undergo a series of tests prior to their departure from Guyana, and arrival to their destination. On the 23rd January,2021, the team will do the first of two tests scheduled prior to their departure, after which they are required to isolate before their second on the January 27, 2021.
Upon Arrival in Antigua, a 2-day room isolation is required after which they will undergo the third test on 2nd February,2021, with the fourth test scheduled for the 6th February,2021, between which players will be allowed to practice as a group.
