Dave Cameron supporting Anand Sanasie’s CWI Presidential bid

Former President of Cricket West Indies (CWI) Dave Cameron says he will be doing everything he can to help Guyana Cricket Board Secretary, Anand Sanasie, to beat Ricky Skerritt for the regional board presidency at the Annual General Meeting to be held virtually on March 28.

News emerged on Wednesday that Sanasie would be challenging Skerritt and would partner with Barbados Cricket Association Vice-President, Calvin Hope, as his running mate. Cameron, in an interview with Nationwide Sports, says he is backing the Sanasie/Hope ticket.

Cameron, who lost in his bid for a fourth straight term in 2019, when he was beaten 8/4 by Skerritt says, the current administration doesn’t understand the business of leadership and has taken West Indies backward.

Meanwhile, when asked if he ever sees himself running for the presidency again, this was Cameron’s response. “I have to interest in West Indies anymore. Not that I don’t love cricket or that I don’t love my region. It is too divisive,” Cameron said.
Cameron says his leadership was dogged by challenges from outside cricket, and he gave one example of it. (Nationwide Sports)
