Anxious Mickle confident of Achievers being crowned AJM T20 champions

Senior Berbice all-rounder Kwesi Mickle is confident of putting on a good showing at today’s AJM T20 Mash It Up T20 tournament. Mickle and his side will play game one at 9:30h at Bush Lot Sports Complex Ground, West Berbice, when Achievers ‘A’ take on Bush Lot United.

Reflecting on the last AJM tournament, Mickle said despite it being second division, it was highly competitive.

“I am anxiously waiting for today so we can be the champions to be honest. The experience was great honestly, I know it’s second division but it was very competitive.”

“The atmosphere was wonderful the crowd really supported all the teams, they just wanted to see good cricket.”

Mickle, who is fresh off a half-century for Tucker Park against Blairmont last weekend, is in good spirits ahead of today’s clash.

“Yes I had a practice match against Blairmont on Saturday made a 50 against a pretty good bowling attack, so I guess I’m in a bit of form. I just want to be more positive that’s all,” Mickle explained.

Fitness is the name of the game for Mickle, and his fitness levels is right up there.

In the last AJM tournament, Mickle had 10 wickets in four games, including a top spell of 4-6 from four overs.
